IEEE-APS Topical Conference on Antennas and Propagation in Wireless Communications - APWC 2014, Palm Beach (Netherlands). 03-09 August 2014
Summary:
This paper presents a composite right/left-handed (CRLH) slot line leaky-wave antenna (LWA) loaded with non-bianisotropic split ring resonators (NB-SRRs). Specifically, it is shown how the proposed topology overcomes the problem of far field cancelation due to the existence of antiparallel currents in fundamental mode LWAs based on open planar waveguides such as microstrip, coplanar waveguides (CPW) and coplanar strip lines (CPS). A comparison to a NB-SRR-based CPW LWA with identical dimensions and number of cells is given. The results reveal that the proposed approach is a good candidate for designing high performance LWAs.
